25 Apr all in the same boat/argentine
“We are all in the same boat” (Padrinazgo COVID19) is a simple program that aims to alleviate not only the effects of the food crisis that was triggered by the quarantine, but above all to continue, during these days of social isolation, weaving bonds of closeness and friendship with those who suffer most. Argentine families receive referrals from the Bishops Commission for Immigrants, from the SJM or from our own community and connect with several family groups: Venezuelans, Ecuadorians, Peruvians, Armenians, Colombians, Lebanese, all of us in the same boat, all of us brothers and sisters. They provide much more than food; they offer moments of listening, they talk with one another about their families, they accompany one another.
Covid 19 respects no borders, nor does it exempt any race, nationality, or religion; it simply keeps advancing. Let’s do what we can and all that we can so that it may find us united, so that “when all of this is over, this experience may remind us once and for all that humankind is one community…” (Pope Francis)
