26 Apr “outreach”/england
Our tiny Handmaid community in Boscombe is totally integrated into the life and ministry of our Parish, Corpus Christi, both in the schools and the Pastoral work of the parish. Our chapel, too, is a much-frequented centre for prayer and adoration. So as the Covid 19 lockdown has curtailed most of our physical presence and contact with the children and parishioners, we have found creative ways to continue our ministry and to enable Jesus to continue to be adored, especially by our ACI Family members, using social media.
We are live streaming adoration every day, together with other spiritual resources. We regularly telephone parishioners who live alone and greet others, from a safe distance, when we see them on our daily walks. We are offering a weekly “Outreach” that is sent to members of the parish by e-mail or post and is added to the parish webpage. It includes parish news, reflections and ideas on this new way of being church and staying in communion in these strange times. So even though our parish church is empty, our ministry is very full.
