27 Apr a heart without LIMITS/ireland
“The heart of a Handmaid must not be limited to any fixed number; it must reach out the ends of the earth.”
In these times of lockdown, we are invited to “stay at home” but our Handmaid’s heart is longing to expand even more than usual… As many of us belong to the so-called “risk group” and cannot go out to meet those who suffer, we have decided, in community, to bring the world into our chapel every day. We do it by praying the rosary – the prayer of the humble -, asking Mary to “place with her Son” all those who are most directly affected by the coronavirus or are working in the front line. We also pray for our neighbours, our 2 schools and all those who used to come every day to our chapel to pray.
Each day, one of the community leads the rosary and chooses the intentions for which we will pray. We do this before evening prayer, trying to keep a peaceful and prayerful atmosphere… And, by doing so, our hearts expand to the whole world, as Saint Raphaela wished.
