21 May the “friendly voice” of ana rosa, ACI/peru
We continue in lockdown because of Covid-19, and we are becoming involved in telephone accompaniment to some immigrant families. It has not been difficult to notice how important it is to have a “friendly voice” in the midst of so many threatening voices that give rise to insecurity. Sr. Ana Rosa Hevia, at the age of 85, did not hesitate to join in to be that voice and that listening ear to encourage, strengthen, lift up… Maintaining this connection has become an act of reparation that restores the dignity to people for they feel that they are personally valued, called by name. In the midst of so many “statistics,” in which we don’t even know if the immigrants are counted, to give a space to these persons in our daily ”routine,” calling them on the phone and praying for them dignifies not only their humanity but also ours…
Thank you, Ana Rosa for staying the course, repairing!
In order to continue responding to other needs, we have been receiving support from the Conference of Religious of Peru, from Caritas, and other donations in order to continue to offer the “family baskets” as an emergency help to the families in the most precarious situations.
