26 Sep World Day of prayer for Migrant People And Refugees
On the occasion of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, in union with the whole Church, we offered a time of adoration in our Church at XX Settembre. It was a moment to look at the Lord while we contemplated the faces of so many migrants who suffer each day both the sadness of being far from their countries and the despair of not being able to find a true refuge where they are.
Guided by the Pope’s words for this day, we were invited to recall all those situations, both near and far, that fracture the ever wider “we” that we are called to live as Christians.
But our commitment cannot end there, “… we must make every effort to break down the walls that separate us and, in acknowledging our profound interconnection, build bridges that foster a culture of encounter,” Francis also reminds us. With this idea, we get closer to placing our heart – a symbol of our concrete intention to break down what separates us – on a world that hopes with a hope for our reparation.
