21 Jan THE WISE MEN VISIT 130 VULNERABLE CHILDREN/SPAIN
The Wise Men from the East give presents to the participants in the programmes for children and youth of the Atalya Intercultural Association
The Wise Men from the East found a slot in their busy schedule to visit Burgos and present gifts to the 130 children who take part in the Atalaya Intercultural programmes of social and educational intervention for minors.
This initiative is part of a broad program which offers solutions for the problems experienced by children coming from needy families or those at risk of exclusion, specifically of migrant origin, by carrying out a comprehensive social and educational intervention for children and their families. This event, based on the tradition of the Three Kings is part of a strategy of educating for leisure and is a way of our introducing them to our host culture.
It was an activity that really delighted all the children who during the year take part in programmes of educational support for both Primary and Secondary students. This has been happening for four years now and has been attended by 130 children. The giving of the presents was carried out by the Three Wise Men, in the presence of the families of the recipients and volunteers from Atalaya Intercultural. The gifts which we gave out came from the East thanks to the collaboration of several institutions in Burgos like Ibercaja-Coop. International, Handmaids of the Sacred Heart in Spain, the Spanish Association of Playmobil Collectors, the NGO Carumanda-SAFA, Peña Andrés Montes and Club el Soto.
