22 Nov Encounters: living according to God’s will (31 Oct to 3 Nov)
Meeting, going out to meet, being met… Our stories contain a little of each of these experiences. In life, encounters happen in many ways: there are many moments of encounter: a phone call, an email, a whatsapp, a coffee, a look that needs no words, memories of moments lived, projects in progress, projects for which we work and pray. These are spaces for meeting with others, and they are also opportunities to meet with God.
However, the awareness of the importance of caring for our own vocation and the responsibility and desire to care for the vocation of others also leads us to seek a privileged encounter. The God of Life unites us. Also affection, and when it is reciprocal, the encounter becomes a feast. Well, you see, while some were on holiday, we were celebrating.
In today’s culture, our life becomes daring when we stop, without complexes, to meet each other. We want to “put our souls at ease” in order to recognise the God who meets us through others. Meeting goes far beyond meeting in a place; it is speaking from the depths, sharing our life, worshipping together and recognising,
thankfully, Jesus who calls us.
